Tican a.m.b.a.
The Tican Group is a cooperative owned by 330 Danish pig producers. The Group's activities range from slaughtering to food production in Denmark, the UK and Poland. The product range includes fresh meat, processed meat and ready meals, which are sold to consumers in Europe and increasingly to markets in the Far East and North America. The Group has a staff of more than 1,900 employees, and its turnover in 2010/11 amounted to DKK 4.4 billion. The Group's headquarters are in Thisted, and its biggest single market today is the UK.

Significant improvement in profits
Tican's Board of Directors has today considered and adopted the consolidated annual accounts for 2010/11. Turnover in the Group increased by 9.4%, ending up at DKK4.4b in 2010/11. Continued positive growth in the processing operations combined with good capacity utilisation and strong earnings from the abattoir operations resulted in an increase of DKK11m or 5.5% in the operating profit compared with 2009/10, which was also historically high. The opeating profit can therefore be considered to be very satisfactory.
